The heart and soul of the Wayfarer is based around our hand crafted beers and excellent food, creating one of the best possible experiences in the village of Parbold, Lancashire.

Our secret is our passion...
and we’d like to share it with you.

The Wayfarer Brew, Pub and Dining rooms is an award-winning, independent family run country pub and restaurant set in the heart of the picturesque village of Parbold in Lancashire. The Wayfarer has an outstanding reputation for tasty dishes, locally brewed beers and a welcoming, relaxed ambience.

Choose to dine in the bright contemporary conservatory, ambient original dining rooms or snuggle into a cosy nook in the fire-lit bar area.

Our extensive kitchen team has strong leaders who have been with us from early in their careers and have nurtured under a range of our Head chefs. The team draw inspritation from all oover the world whilst maintaining a proper Lancashire Pub feel. They combine a love of refined dining with rustic charm to deliver the compelling cuisine that makes The Wayfarer a true dining destination.

Three generations of the Birkett/Street family have loved and cared for The Wayfarer since 1997. In 2017, on the 20th birthday of the business, The Wayfarer was awarded the Best Family Business award in the highly contested BIBAs (Be Inspired Business Awards) and also finalists in the Leisure Business of the Year and Business Person of the Year for manager, Rachel Birkett. Rachel’s husband Jonny established the popular Problem Child Brewing microbrewery next door to The Wayfarer in 2013. Named after Rachel’s troubled teenage years, Problem Child beers boast an array of distinct flavours and has won critics over who continue to travel to sample Parbold’s very own brew. Ales are at the heart of The Wayfarer, reflected by prominence in The Good Beer Guide since 2010.

We cater for all tastes, alongside our hand crafted ales and beers. We stock quality ale from established breweries around the country and Artisan beers from Microbreweries, both local and far. Our interesting range of continental lagers, world beers and ciders are available in craft keg and bottles. Please just ask at the bar.

Located a short distance away from both the M6 and M58, The Wayfarer is surrounded by beautiful countryside and welcomes many walkers and dog lovers plus their furry friends. Booking is highly recommended to avoid disappointment.

A warm welcome awaits you!
